GAP Initiative Hosts VACS Community of Practice December Webinar

The GAP Initiative™ desires that every farmer has access to every proven, appropriate tool for creating agricultural productivity growth to sustainably meet our agricultural needs by 2050. However, evidence indicates that improving the productivity of the VACS opportunity crops may be constrained by limited access to improved seeds, insufficient R&D funding, and limited market opportunities. We discuss how bundles of productivity-enhancing, distribution, socio-economic, and policy tools may be used to bridge the valley of death – the gap between R&D and widespread adoption – so that we can improve the productivity and success of opportunity crops, particularly for smallholder producers.
